Experienced Front of House Assistant – Award-Winning Plant-Based Restaurant
Vibe Plant Based Cafe & Restaurant is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and hospitality-driven Front of House Assistant to join our small, close-knit team.
We’re an award-winning, independent restaurant in the heart of Douglas, passionate about great food, genuine connections and creating memorable experiences for everyone who walks through our door.
We’re looking for a natural host who genuinely loves people and takes pride in looking after them. Someone with a great personality, strong hospitality experience and the confidence to manage a restaurant floor, making every customer feel welcome, valued and cared for.
This is a varied, hands-on role in a small team, so multitasking, initiative and excellent attention to detail are essential. You’ll need to work efficiently, prioritise tasks and keep everything running smoothly, while knowing when to step away from the jobs list and give customers the time and attention they deserve.
Responsibilities include:
- setting up the restaurant
- stocking fridges and workstations
- taking orders and payments
- serving customers
- managing reservations and answering the telephone.
You’ll prepare quality barista coffees, fresh juices, smoothies and other drinks, confidently recommend menu items and help create a beautiful atmosphere. Keeping the restaurant clean and tidy, including staying on top of the daily front-of-house washing up, is an important part of the role.
Everyone mucks in, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in every aspect of their work. Creativity, initiative and a good eye for detail are a real bonus.
We’re passionate about plant-based food and inspiring people through what we do, so you’ll need to understand and represent the Vibe ethos with warmth and enthusiasm. We want someone who can hit the ground running, work independently when needed and become a valued part of our little Vibe family.
Hours and availability
We’re recruiting for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with daytime shifts starting at 11:30am and finishing between 3:00pm and 3:30pm, or evening shifts starting at 5:15pm until the end of service. We’re happy to consider separate candidates for daytime and evening shifts, or one person looking for a combination of shifts. The position is available immediately.
