About this role
Provides personal care and everyday support to residents of a local care provider, including care-plan support and wellbeing checks.
Are you a warm, caring person who finds real fulfilment in helping others live life to the fullest? Ambitions Recruitment is recruiting a Health Care Assistant on behalf of a locally owned and locally run care provider dedicated to supporting residents with genuine kindness, respect, and dignity. If you want a role where every day you can make a real difference to someone's life, this could be the perfect fit.As part of a close-knit team, you'll be there for residents in the moments that matter, supporting them with personal care in a way that protects their independence and honours their individual wishes.
You'll get to know the people you care for, noticing the small changes in how they're feeling and speaking up if something doesn't seem right. You'll help keep everyone safe and well by following good hygiene practices, and you'll play an active part in shaping and reviewing care plans alongside nurses and other professionals.
Above all, you'll treat every resident with the same respect, patience, and warmth you'd want for your own family.Day to day, this might mean helping someone move around safely and comfortably, encouraging them to eat and drink well, or simply sitting and chatting to brighten their day. Depending on your training, you may also help with medication.
Sometimes you'll lend a hand with everyday domestic tasks too, like laundry, shopping, or preparing a meal, always making sure residents feel at home in a clean, safe environment. We'd love to hear from you if you're a good communicator with a keen eye for detail and a genuine interest in people. No formal qualifications are needed to get started, though an RQF Level 2 in Health and Social Care is a bonus, or you can work towards it with our support (we'll help you complete your Care Certificate if you're just starting out).
If you're keen to progress into medication administration down the line, a Level 3 RQF medication unit will be part of that journey. Most of all, we're looking for someone caring, cheerful, and hands-on, who's happy to get stuck in with personal care and everyday support. You'll be someone who can follow guidance closely while also trusting your own instincts, and who brings flexibility, reliability, and a friendly face to the team every day.
As this role involves working closely with vulnerable people, we'll need an enhanced DBS check and two references, ideally including your most recent employer and any care experience you have. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you — get in touch with Ambitions Recruitment today.
