Operates honing machines to finish tight-tolerance aircraft components and inspect and certify completed work.
We are seeking an experienced Honer. The role primarily entails utilising various honing machines to manufacture the Fine Finishing/Honing of tight tolerance aircraft components to tolerances of .00005” in Dia , .00005” in Straightness / Roundness with 4 Micro Inch Finishes. Qualifications / Desired Characteristics:
Honing experience desirable but not essential, training for the right candidate will be provided. Hands on mechanical experience preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Be able to work with minimum supervision and be able to check and verify own work (Including Self Certification Of First Off’s).
Able to read engineering drawings, layouts and stage drawings. Familiar with air gauging, bore micrometers, diatest etc. Have a high level of manual dexterity and good hand to eye coordination. Have a high attention to detail. Be capable of inspecting and certifying own work. Be able to understand and work to process specifications.
Have a methodical approach to work. Show flexibility with regard to working hours including working overtime where required. Have a positive attitude towards Health and safety. Be able to work both independently and part of a team. To apply please email [email protected]
