Conducts individual sports science and wellbeing assessments, interprets results, and develops programmes supporting clients’ wellbeing, recovery, and performance.
We are seeking a qualified Sports Science & Health Analysis Specialist to join a developing health analysis and wellbeing centre on the Isle of Man. The role combines sports science, functional assessment, health and lifestyle analysis, performance and recovery support, and specialised technology-assisted analysis systems, working one-to-one with clients to conduct detailed assessments, interpret results and develop individualised programmes supporting wellbeing, recovery, performance, prevention and healthy ageing.
This specialist role requires strong scientific understanding of human physiology, movement, performance and recovery, combined with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to clients. Responsibilities include conducting individual sports science and wellbeing assessments; operating the Centre's specialised analysis systems; interpreting assessment data; and explaining findings to clients. The successful candidate will develop individualised programmes relating to movement, activity, recovery, performance and lifestyle, provide guidance on performance, regeneration and recovery, and support prevention and healthy-ageing strategies, along with lifestyle, nutrition and supplement guidance where appropriate. The role also involves monitoring client progress, maintaining accurate confidential records, and developing assessment protocols and quality standards.
Ongoing equipment training, continuing professional development and liaison with manufacturers and technical support teams form part of the position, alongside collaborative working with other health professionals and ensuring services remain within the Centre's non-medical scope, referring clients to medical professionals where necessary.
Applicants should hold a university degree in Sports Science or a closely related discipline, with a strong academic understanding of physiology, exercise physiology, movement and recovery. Experience in individual client assessment, consultation or programme development is essential, along with the ability to translate findings into practical recommendations. Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are required, as is the ability to work independently, maintain accurate professional records, and communicate professionally in English. A willingness to undertake continuing professional development is expected. German language skills at B2 level or higher are essential, as certain specialist equipment is supplied by German manufacturers and related training and technical instruction may be delivered in German.
Experience in functional health, wellbeing, prevention, rehabilitation or healthy-ageing programmes would be advantageous, as would experience with athletes or physically active clients, technology-assisted assessment systems, and knowledge of nutrition and lifestyle factors affecting wellbeing. Knowledge of Vitalfeld technology and Non-Linear Systems would also be beneficial, along with experience developing assessment protocols or quality-management procedures and an interest in integrative approaches to health and longevity.
The role is based on the Isle of Man and centres on individual client consultations, requiring professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail. Specialist training may be delivered outside the Isle of Man, requiring occasional international travel. As the Centre develops, the successful candidate may also contribute to new programmes and services. Appointment is subject to satisfactory evidence of qualifications, experience and legal entitlement to work on the Isle of Man.
