Logistics Technician responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching materials and products in a manufacturing facility.
At Astrea Bioseparations, we develop and manufacture chromatography solutions that support the purification of biopharmaceuticals worldwide. Our products play a vital role in the development and manufacture of therapies that improve and save lives. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Logistics Technician to join our Production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in ensuring materials, products and shipments move safely, accurately and efficiently throughout the business. Working closely with colleagues across Production, Supply Chain and Logistics, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of site activities and ensuring our products reach customers around the world on time.
What you'll be doing As a Logistics Technician, you'll be responsible for the efficient movement, storage and dispatch of materials and products throughout our facility. Key responsibilities include:
Receiving, unloading and processing incoming deliveries, Verifying goods against delivery documentation and reporting discrepancies, Storing materials safely and accurately within designated warehouse locations, Supplying raw materials, consumables and equipment to production teams as required, Maintaining stock accuracy through effective inventory control and stock counting activities,Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for shipment, Coordinating domestic and international shipments in line with company procedures,Preparing waste materials for collection and disposal in accordance with site requirements, Supporting warehouse organisation and housekeeping,Operating material handling equipment, including forklifts, where authorised, Following all Health & Safety, Quality and GMP requirements, Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the Operations function, What we're looking for - We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable and enjoys working collaboratively to achieve shared goals. Essential - Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, stores or manufacturing support role, Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, Strong organisational and time-management skills, Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, Basic IT skills and confidence using business systems, A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable - Forklift truck licence or experience operating material handling equipment, Experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment, Familiarity with inventory management or ERP systems.
